  1. Disc brakes have better heat dissipation than drum brakes. When the brakes are continuously stepped on, they are less likely to cause brake degradation and brake failure.

  2. The size change of the brake disc after heating does not increase the stroke of the brake pedal.

  3. The disc brake system responds quickly and can do high-frequency braking actions, so it is more in line with the needs of the ABS system.

   4. Disc brakes do not have the automatic braking effect of drum brakes, so the braking force of the left and right wheels is relatively even.

   5. Because the brake disc has better drainage, it can reduce the situation of poor braking due to water or sand.

   6. Compared with drum brakes, disc brakes are simple in structure and easy to maintain.

   1. Because there is no automatic braking effect of the drum brake, the braking force of the disc brake is lower than that of the drum brake.

  2. The friction area between the brake pads of the disc brake and the brake disc is smaller than that of the drum brake, so that the braking force is also smaller.

  3. In order to improve the shortcomings of the above disc brakes, a larger pedaling force or hydraulic pressure is required. Therefore, a brake disc with a larger diameter must be used, or the hydraulic pressure of the brake system must be increased to increase the braking force.

  4. The parking brake device is not easy to install. For some models with disc brakes on the rear wheels, a set of parking brake mechanisms with drum brakes are added for this purpose.

  5. The brake pads are worn out, so the frequency of replacement may be higher.

The driving brakes have changed from drum type, rim type to disc brake type, keeping up with the times. The use of disc brakes is becoming more and more popular, and brakes, a safety and life-saving device, have no right to fail. We intend to understand disc brakes, not to judge or distinguish between good and bad. The choice and use of the system should be based on the user's riding style, needs, budget, etc., and each needs it, and each has its own use.
